There are over 6000 spoken languages in the world with English ranking second place in having the most speakers. Apart from the United States, Great Britain, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand; countries like Singapore, India, and the Philippines use English quite frequently. But as we are now in the modern globalized age, interchange of cultures and languages is bound to happen in almost every country. English happens to play a major role in Thailand because the country is an important business and tourism center in Southeast Asia.
